How it works

A simple path to getting started

The care model is designed to make medical weight and metabolic care easier to fit into a busy schedule while keeping treatment individualized.

1

Complete your intake

Begin with the structured online intake, including your medical history, health goals, required disclosures and payment.

2

Your intake is reviewed

Your Nurse Practitioner reviews your information and determines whether asynchronous care is appropriate, a video evaluation is recommended, or additional information is needed.

3

Review your recommendations

You'll receive individualized recommendations and can communicate how you'd like to proceed. If a video evaluation is preferred or recommended, you'll receive a link by email to schedule it.

4

Begin treatment & follow-up

After any required clinical items are completed and treatment is deemed appropriate, your care plan can begin with ongoing monitoring and follow-up as needed.

Valēre Wellness Group was created to make evidence-based weight and metabolic care more accessible and convenient. As a working mom, I understand how difficult it can be to fit frequent medical appointments into an already busy schedule.

My goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care through a flexible telehealth model while maintaining the clinical standards expected of medical care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about how Valēre works? Find answers below about evaluations, video visits, pricing, medications, insurance, labs, and ongoing care.

What is Valēre Wellness Group?

Valēre Wellness Group is a California cash-pay telehealth medical practice providing evidence-based care for weight and metabolic health. Care is delivered through an async-first model designed to make medical weight management more convenient while allowing for video evaluation when clinically appropriate.

Why would I use Valēre instead of seeing my primary care provider?

Your primary care provider may be able to help with weight management, and Valēre is not intended to replace primary care.

Valēre offers dedicated weight and metabolic care designed around the ongoing needs of treatment. Because medical weight management can involve regular check-ins, medication adjustments, and continued monitoring, our flexible telehealth model makes it easier to stay connected without scheduling a traditional office or video visit for every follow-up.

As a cash-pay practice, Valēre also offers transparent pricing for clinical services. We encourage patients to maintain a primary care provider for routine, preventive, and comprehensive medical care.

How does an asynchronous evaluation work?

All patients begin by completing a structured online intake that includes information about your medical history, medications, health goals, lifestyle, and other factors relevant to your care.

Your clinician reviews your submitted information and determines whether treatment recommendations can be provided asynchronously or whether additional evaluation is needed. Payment and completion of the intake do not guarantee medication eligibility, prescribing, or asynchronous-only care.

Do I need a video appointment?

Not necessarily. Many straightforward evaluations can be completed asynchronously after your online intake is reviewed.

A video visit may be added if you prefer to meet with your clinician or if your clinician determines that a video assessment is needed to provide safe and appropriate care. Your clinician will let you know if additional evaluation is recommended after reviewing your intake.

How much does it cost to get started?

The initial asynchronous evaluation is $129.

A video consultation is $179 total and may be chosen if you prefer a video visit or recommended by your clinician when additional assessment is needed. You'll complete the same online intake first, followed by a scheduled video visit.

If you've already paid the $129 initial evaluation fee and your clinician determines that a video consultation is required, your $129 payment is applied toward the $179 total and you pay only the remaining $50.

Patients receiving active treatment that requires ongoing monitoring, medication management, or structured follow-up may enroll in the $59/month Active Treatment Membership.

Additional follow-up options are available when appropriate. Current pricing is available on our Services & Pricing page.

Does the initial evaluation guarantee that I will receive a prescription?

No. Payment is for a medical evaluation and does not guarantee that medication will be prescribed.

Treatment recommendations are based on your medical history, current health, treatment goals, safety considerations, and clinical appropriateness. Additional information, laboratory testing, medical records, vital signs, identity verification, a video visit, or in-person evaluation may sometimes be needed before treatment recommendations or prescribing can be finalized.

What medications do you prescribe for weight management?

When medication is appropriate, treatment may include prescription medication based on your individual needs, medical history, eligibility, and treatment goals.

Valēre follows evidence-based prescribing practices and generally adheres to FDA-approved indications, contraindications, warnings, precautions, and monitoring recommendations. Requesting a specific medication does not guarantee that it will be prescribed.

Valēre does not prescribe compounded GLP-1 medications.

Are medications included in the cost of my evaluation or membership?

No. Valēre's fees cover clinical services only. Prescription medications, laboratory testing, pharmacy services, and other outside services are billed separately.

If medication is prescribed, it can be sent to your preferred pharmacy.

Can I use my health insurance for prescriptions?

Yes. Although Valēre is a cash-pay practice and does not bill or accept insurance for its clinical services, you may be able to use your insurance benefits for prescription medications when applicable.

Coverage, copays, deductibles, medication availability, and other out-of-pocket costs are determined by your insurance plan and pharmacy and cannot be guaranteed by Valēre.

When clinically appropriate, Valēre may provide reasonable assistance with an initial prior authorization for medication prescribed by the practice. Insurance approval is not guaranteed. Formal appeals, peer-to-peer reviews, repeated appeals, and other extensive insurance-related services are not included as part of routine prior authorization assistance.

Will I need laboratory testing?

Possibly. Laboratory testing may be recommended or required before treatment begins or during treatment depending on your individual clinical needs. Treatment recommendations or prescribing may be delayed or paused if required laboratory testing is not completed.

Laboratory services are separate from Valēre's clinical fees. When available, you may provide your insurance information directly to the laboratory for billing. Coverage and any out-of-pocket costs are determined by your insurance plan, and patients are responsible for confirming their benefits.

Do I have to live in California?

You do not necessarily have to be a California resident, but you must be physically located in California when receiving clinical care from Valēre, including evaluation, treatment planning, prescribing, and clinical follow-up.

If you are outside California when care is needed, your care may need to be delayed or paused until you are physically back in the state.

What happens after I submit my evaluation?

Your clinician will review your intake and determine the appropriate next steps. Depending on your individual needs, you may receive treatment recommendations asynchronously or be asked for additional information, laboratory testing, records, or a video evaluation before treatment can be finalized.

Patients receiving active treatment may require ongoing monitoring, medication management, and structured follow-up, generally every 4–6 weeks. Once clinically stable, some patients may transition to maintenance or episodic care with periodic reassessment rather than monthly active-treatment management.

Valēre is not intended for urgent or emergency medical concerns. If you are experiencing an urgent or potentially life-threatening condition, seek appropriate urgent or emergency medical care.
